Cross-organisation knowledge stay

Working in Ramboll often entails travels to different offices around the world.

Adam Boorer and Farzin Hafezparast, two British offshore wind engineers from Ramboll UK, have been on a knowledge stay in Ramboll Copenhagen to get in-depth expertise about a new field: pipelines.

Offshore wind enthusiasts

The two young engineers have worked with offshore wind in Ramboll UK since 2008. They both see very attractive opportunities in working with offshore wind.

“My main drive was the opportunity to work with offshore wind and sustainable solutions. Originally, I finished my Master’s in Engineering and Architectural Design, but soon felt attracted to working with wind energy. It is a very motivating field,” Farzin Hafezparast explains.

A whole new world of pipeline design

When the opportunity to go to Ramboll Copenhagen for a knowledge stay opened in August, both of them instantly put their names down.

“It was a good opportunity to learn more about offshore services, to experience Denmark and get to know our Danish colleagues. We have learned a lot in just a couple of months at the Copenhagen office and now know that there’s a lot more to pipeline design than we thought!” Adam Boorer says.

Hands-on experience

Adam and Farzin have been working on project specific tasks during their stay.

“This has been a good way to gain knowledge of the pipeline field. Plus everybody in the office has been very willing to mentor and assist us. We would definitely consider a similar knowledge stay again in the future,” they both agree.

The knowledge stay was part of a cross-company training initiative in Ramboll Oil & Gas.
